3 critically injured in bus-lorry-car collision at Ullal

Mangalore, Sept 29, 2013: A head-on collision between a  Kasargod-Mangalore express bus  and  a  fish lorry  on NH 66 at Ullal on September 29, Sunday, has left three persons seriously injured. A Maruti Omni  which was behind the bus too collided with the bus. However, those in the car escaped unhurt.

Those injured namely the bus driver Kunhiraman (35), lorry driver Vishayan (40) and Anup (28) have been hospitalized. The injured lorry driver had to be pulled out of the vehicle with assistance from fire service men almost half an hour after the mishap.

The mishap took place after the express bus tried to overtake another vehicle. Though John and Naveen who were in the Maruti Omni did not suffer any injury, the front portion of the car was badly damaged.

The bus passengers too were lucky enough not to suffer any injuries. Traffic was disrupted on the route for nearly half an hour.
