2 vigilantes arrested for targeting scribe at restaurant

Mangaluru, Aug 01, 2023: Police have arrested two men on the charges of resorting to immoral policing at a restaurant in the city and targeting a news portal journalist who had been to the place along with his female friend.

 

Those arrested are Chethan (37) of Kotekar and Naveen (43) of Yeyyadi.  The journalist Abhijith has lodged a complaint. On July 28 when Abhijith had been to a restaurant with his friend, the accused who suspected Abhijith to be a Muslim questioned why he was with a Hindu girl and even tried to abuse and assault the young man.

Based on the complaint lodged, the police arrested the accused.
