2 people escape from burning Maruthi Gypsy

Udupi, May 17, 2012 : Two people escaped miraculously when the Maruthi Gypsy they were travelling by caught fire near Kukkikatte Railway Bridge on May 16, Wednesday.

Chandrashekar Sherigar, the owner of the vehicle was driving from Kukkikatte to Indiranagar when it caught fire near the railway bridge. Mr. Sherigar and his companion Dheeraj, who was travelling with him, jumped out of the vehicle.

Reportedly, an electric short circuit caused the fire, which caused a loss of Rs. 2.25 lakh for the owner.

The fire fighting squad put off the fire.
