2 arrested for looting, murdering lorry driver

Mangalore, May 4, 2013: Two persons have been arrested on the charges of looting two lorry drivers and murdering one of them at Baikampady Industrial area. The incident had taken place on April 29.

Those arrested are Mohammad Sadiq (17) of Krishnapura 7th Block and Rolsan Rebello(20) of Kalavar.

The duo who had arrived by a bike had robbed two lorry drivers who had parked their vehicles on the road side and killed one of them before fleeing.

The police who swung into action based on the information provided by an eyewitness driver that the accused had come by a red bike, tracked down all red bike owners. Finally,  on the basis of the information obtained from a resident of Kaluvaru Jokatte, arrested Rolsan on Friday morning near the Kulur Ayyappa Temple. The other accused was arrested on the basis of information provided by Rolsan.
