2,800 students participate in national integration convention

Mangalore, February 23, 2012 : Around 2,800 children from schools all over the district participated in the National Integration Convention organized by Bharat Seva Dal on Wednesday.

 

 

 

The children, all from Standards VI, VII, and VIII, were smartly dressed in green-and-white uniforms for girls and blue-and-white uniforms for boys. They looked disciplined when they formed neat rows for the morning drill, which was held after the inauguration ceremony. The cultural program was held post lunch.

A Std VII student informed reporters that Bharat Seva Dal, available only to children in government schools, is allowed up to Std. VIII.
