17 sand smuggling trucks seized at Kannur

Mangalore, July 26, 2013 : The Mangalore Rural Police and the revenue officials, in a joint peration  have seized as many as 17 trucks which were illegally transporting sand to Bangalore from the city on July 26, Friday.

 

 

The  trucks were spotted behind Kannur mosque and were seized.

Reports  said each truck load of sand was sold for Rs 50,000 in the state capital. It is learnt, one of the seized truck had permits.
