Malpe, Oct 29, 2020: As many as 17 children who were engaged in the work of picking fish at the Malpe port were rescued by a team of officials on October 29, Thursday morning. Officers from Women and Child Development Department, Child Protection Unit, Labour Department, Police Department, Child Helpline and representatives of Nagarika Seva Trust conducted the operation.
The rescued children from Ballary and Koppala were produced before the Child Welfare Committee.
District Child Protection Officer Sadananda Nayak, Labour Officer Kumar, Labour Inspector Praveen and others were part of the official team.
