‘Symphony of Hope’ Brings 200+ Mangalurean Artistes Together for Paediatric Cancer Cause

Mangaluru, August 30, 2026: More than 200 artistes of Mangalurean heritage came together at Fr Muller Convention Centre on Saturday for Symphony of Hope, a charity concert supporting children battling paediatric cancer.

The sold-out event drew around 1,600 people, with tickets sold out a week ahead. Artistes from across India and overseas participated in the multidisciplinary production featuring a symphony orchestra, choir, soloists, opera, ballet, Bharatanatyam, theatre and percussion.

The programme brought together 53 choir members, 29 soloists, 33 junior vocalists, 31 musicians, 14 drummers and 55 dancers, supported by an organising team of around 100. Several musicians had rehearsed for nearly six months.

The repertoire spanned Western, contemporary and Indian music, featuring numbers from The Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean and Aladdin, along with songs by Adele, Yanni and Arijit Singh. Tamil numbers and other Indian compositions were also part of the programme.

Directed by Ramona Mathias, with choreography by Remona Pereira and technical and visual execution led by Klinton Mascarenhas, the concert featured international performer Vivienne Pocha among its artistes.

The event aimed not only to celebrate Mangaluru’s artistic talent but also to raise support for children with cancer and their families facing the financial and emotional challenges of treatment.

The evening concluded with more than 200 artistes joining together for Michael Jackson’s Heal the World, underscoring the concert’s message of hope, compassion and solidarity.
