‘Rang Barse-2013’ held to commemorate Gandhi Jayanthi

Mangalore, Oct 2, 2013: Lion K.C.Prabhu, District Governor 317 D inaugurated ’Rang Barse-2013,’ a painting exhibition and Gandhi Jayanthi celebration organized by Lions Club International District 317D at Lions Seva Mandir, Mallikatta on October 2, Wednesday.

Speaking after the inauguration, he said that the Lions Club has given an opportunity to the artists display their art to the art lovers.

 

 

 

The art lovers may purchase the art work at any cost, but it will be more valuable to the artistes, he said.

Guests of honour Former Chief Security Officer Col. Prem Kumar Shetty said that people always think that soldiers just need physical strength and need no intelligence, but the fact is that, the soldiers are only selected if they are physically and mentally fit.

The soldier’s job is not an easy task, but has to face many problems to protect our nation, he said.

Renowned caricaturist Prashanth Shetty, Cartoonist Harischandra Shetty and Vishnu Shevgoor, president, Karavali Chitrakala Chavadi also spoke on the occasion.

District Cultural Coordinator Lion Jnaneshwari S.Joshi and others were present on the occasion.

Around 70 paintings by Surya Achar Vittal, Anil Devadiga, Dinesh Holla, Harish Kodialbail, Jeevan A.S., Permude Mohan Kumar, Rajendra Kedige, Reshma Shetty, Santhosh Andrade, Syed Asif Ali and Veena Srinivas were displayed.
