‘Hasya Brahma’ of Yakshagana Peruvodi Narayan Bhat passes away

Puttur, Nov 01, 2023: Peruvodi Narayan Bhat, a veteran Yakshagana artiste who was known for his comedy roles, has passed away on October 31, Tuesday following a brief illness. He was 96 years old and was famous as Hasya Brahma of Yakshagana.

 

He had forayed into the field of Yakshagana at the age of 14 without any training and went on to emerge as a talented artiste. He had first performed for Dharmasthala Mela.
