Woman jumps into well with daughter; girl survives

Sullia, June 29, 2022: A woman has committed suicide by jumping into a well with her four year old daughter at Talur in Devachalla village of Sullia on June 29, Wednesday. The four year old girl however managed to survive and is hospitalised.
The deceased is Geetha, wife of Dayananda, a personnel of the Fire Service Department. Geetha who worked as a clerk had jumped into the well with her daughter Poorvika. The girl however clung to a stone inside the well and was eventually rescued.
The woman and the child were found missing when the family members woke up this morning and a frantic search ensued only to find the two of them inside the well.
Sullia Police have registered a case.
