Weekend curfew, lockdowns offer no solution to Covid pandemic : Ramanatha Rai

Mangaluru, Jan 11, 2022: Senior Congress leader and former minister B Ramanatha Rai has said that weekend curfews and lockdowns are no solution to Covid pandemic.

Speaking to reporters here on January 11, Tuesday, Rai said the government must think of alternate ways to check the spread of the infection.

Stating that the previous lockdowns had already hit hard the people with many losing their jobs and livelihood, Rai said the government must seriously introspect before imposing a lockdown again.

Commenting on MP and State BJP Chief Nalin Kumar Kateel’s remarks tha tthe Mekadatu Padayatra is a mere drama, Rai retaliated and said the BJP Padayatra against Yettinahole was a big drama.

Congress leaders Harinath, Shashidhar Hegde, Ibrahim Kodijal and others were present.
