Weekend curfew from Friday 8 pm ; DC seeks public co-operation

Mangaluru, Jan 06, 2022: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra has said that as per the directive of the State Government, weekend curfew will be enforced from 8 pm on Friday to 5 am on Monday in order to check the spread of Covid-19.

Addressing a press meet on January 5, Wednesday, the Deputy Commissioner said bus services are allowed to operate as usual during the weekend curfew. Even shops selling essential commodities can function, he said and requested the public to avoid unnecessary travel during the weekend curfew and purchase essentials from nearby shops.

Schools and colleges have been asked to grant holidays on Saturdays and those students who have to appear for exams can do so by producing their hall ticket while travelling.

He said religious ceremonies and weddings scheduled for the weekend will be allowed subject to the condition that only upto 200 people can participate.
