Mangaluru, May 16, 2022: Police have arrested a man from Kumpala on the charges of killing his wife by hitting her head with a wooden club.

The arrested person is Joseph Francis. The deceased is Shaima (44). The couple were residing in Kumpala of Ullal Police Station limits. On May 11, they had a quarrel over a trivial issue  following which  Joseph had hit his wife with a wooden club. Shaima who had sustained serious injuries had later consumed poison. Though she was immediately rushed to the hospital, she died the same night.

Shaima’s father, Joseph from Kochi has lodged a complaint following which Joseph was arrested. He was produced before the court and remanded to police custody.
