Udupi: Three arrested for trying to sell drugs in Shirva

Udupi, September 10, 2023: On September 9th, Shirva police apprehended three individuals who were caught in the act of attempting to distribute marijuana in the vicinity of Baggedikallu within Kurkalu village.

While engaged in their routine patrolling duty on Saturday morning, Shaktivelu, the Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) stationed at Shirva, noticed the suspicious activities of Premnath (22), Sampath (25), and Varun (19). These individuals were actively involved in the sale of marijuana near the premises of the Milk Producers’ Cooperative building society. Consequently, Shaktivelu promptly took them into custody.

During the operation, law enforcement confiscated a total of 212 grams of marijuana, which had an estimated market value of Rs 6,000. Additionally, they also seized a digital weighing scale from the suspects.
