Udupi DC clarifies on weekend curfew

Udupi, Jun 18, 2021: Following confusion regarding weekend curfew, Udupi Deputy Commissioner G Jagadeesha has come out with a clarification through a video message.
He said the Weekend Curfew will be in place in the district from Friday 7 pm to Monday 5 am. Shops selling essentials and liquor shops are allowed to function from 6 am to 2 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Home delivery is allowed and restaurants can continue parcel service and those travelling to railway stations and airports will be exempted from the curfew. Scheduled marriages can take place with a maximum participation of 40 people while only five people can participate in funerals.
All other factories and establishments which used to function otherwise including shops selling construction materials will remain closed. The Police have been asked to strictly implement the weekend curfew, the DC said and requested the public not to venture out of their homes unnecessarily.
