Udupi DC clarifies on maskless photo

Udupi, April 24, 2021:     Deputy Commissioner  of Udupi G Jagadeesha has clarified regarding a  maskless photo of his at a private ceremony  held on Friday night. The Deputy Commissioner said he had only attended a family function and not a public function.

 

"The Mehendi function of the  daughter of additional SP  who lives next to our house, was held with only members of four families attending. There were  very few people. It was not a public place and there is no rule to wear masks compulsorily inside houses, masks are  must in public places," the DC said.

He further clarified that he had attended the function at 8.40 pm and returned before the night curfew was in place and that he removed his mask to pose for a photo on a request from the bride. The DC also said he had also not had  food at the function.
