Udupi: Corona positive man booked for flouting quarantine rules

Kaup, April 5, 2020: A man from  Moodabettu, Manipura in Udupi district who had earlier  violated home quarantine rules and has now tested positive for Coronavirus has been booked by the police. The man had arrived from Dubai on March 17.

Though  he was asked to remain in quarantine he had played cricket near his house with 30 people and had visited a bar with his friends. He had even been to a local shop and Syndicate Bank ATM at Dendurukatte and also Radha Medicals.  It is learnt he had even taken his pet to a  veterinary hospital at Korangrapady. Thus after his return he had visited several people.

If that was not enough he had even partied  in front of his  house. However on March 26 he was  hospitalised after he showed symptoms of Coronavirus and was tested positive on March 29.

As per the complaint  lodged  by District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr Sudhir Sooda, the man has been booked under IPC Sections 269 and 271.
