The Constitution Day and Incredible India Competition at St Theresa’s school

Mangaluru, Nov 26, 2021: The Constitution is not just a document but the hard work of our forefathers who drafted the world’s lengthiest constitution. In a bid to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of independent India the Preamble was recited by the school staff and students and the significance of the day was presented followed by the competition ’Incredible India’. The competition was named ’Incredible India ’owing to various diversities, equality and fraternity enjoyed by the citizens of India and keeping in mind ’The Constitution Day’ and ‘National Law Day’ which is celebrated on 26 November, every year.

 

The students of St Theresa’s School, Bendur, Mangalore were given an opportunity to showcase their creative skill to represent the culture and heritage of a few of the states of India. The Blue house represented West Bengal, the Yellow House Northeastern States, the Red house Maharashtra and Green House Rajasthan.

The students demonstrated the culture and heritage of these states as well as food, dance, attire, famous personalities and specialities. It was an opportunity for students to learn about different states and realize that despite our differences, we are all Indians. Students participated with great enthusiasm. Sr Lourdes, the Principal shared the importance of our Constitution and also emphasized the team spirit of working in unity and appreciating our culture. She was spellbound to see the creative side of the children and appreciated both the House teachers and the students for such a pleasing presentation. The Red house topped the competition followed by the Green house. The program ended with a good note of remembering the Constitution and collaborating with each other in spite of various differences.
