Strangers posing as municipal health officials rob house

Mangaluru, Nov 19, 2021: Two strangers who arrived at a house at Daddalkad near Urwa Store  by posing themselves as health officials of the local administration,  have  robbed a cash of Rs 71,000 and 68 grams of gold kept in the almirah of the house.

It  it learnt the men who arrived at the house where a woman  lives alone  said they had come to verify cleanliness  and took the woman to the rear side of the house on the pretext of checking cleanliness. A neighbour expressed some doubts about the strangers and asked their identity cards when the two men said they had it in their vehicle. They later went up to their vehicle and left the place.

It  was only when the woman checked the almirah in the evening that she realised that the cash and gold were missing.

Urwa police who have registered a case  are investigating.
