Sexual harassment case : Chargesheet filed against advocate Rajesh Bhat

Mangaluru, Aug 18, 2022: Police have filed a chargesheet in the 3rd JMFC Court of Mangaluru against advocate K S N Rajesh Bhat who is an accused in a case of alleged attempt to sexually assault a law student who was interning under him.

 

The incident had reportedly taken place  at his office at Karangalpady on September 25, 2021. Though the victim managed to escape then, the accused had reportedly threatened  her.

The chargesheet also mentioned that the accused had linked the CCTV footage of his office to his mobile phone and used to keep an eye on the victim. It also stated that Ananth Bhat and Achyut Bhat had helped the accused flee after the victim lodged a complaint. A total of 110 witnesses have been mentioned in the chargesheet.

The investigation into the case was initially entrusted to ACP Ranjith Bandaru by City Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar. Later ACP Dinaker Shetty continued the probe and filed the chargesheet.
