Revised auto fares to come into effect from Dec 1

Mangaluru, Nov 25, 2022: The revised autorickshaw fare will come into effect in Dakshina Kannada district from December 1 onwards, informed Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner M R Ravikumar who is also the Chairman of the district Regional Transport Authority.

 

The minimum  fare would be Rs 35 for the first 1.5 kms with a maximum three passengers. For every extra kilometer Rs 20 will be charged. While there will be no waiting charge for the first 15 minutes, it would be Rs 5 for every 15 minutes after that.  Luggage upto 20 kg will not be charged, while any additional luggage will have to be paid at the rate of Rs 5 per 10 kg.

 Between 10 pm and 5 am the fare one and a  half times more than the usual fare can be charged. The meters of the autorickshaws must be adjusted accordingly through the Weights and Measures Department and sealed, the DC has said.

Every autorickshaw must have a fare list mentioned. In case the drivers refuse to drop the passengers at their destination or misbehave with passengers, Police  Department can take action.  In the event of the drivers charging excess fees, public can complain by contacting 0824-2220577 /08251 – 230729/08255-280504.
