Ninth standard boy dies after falling from apartment building

Puttur, Aug 06, 2022: A ninth standard boy who had suffered serious injuries after he fell down from an apartment building at Boluvar here on August 5, Friday evening, has died in the hospital.

The deceased is Sushan Rai. He was the son of retired Canara bank manager and  president of Boluvar Sri Durgaparameshwari Malaraya Saparivara Kshetra Manohar Rai.

Sushan who had not returned home on Friday evening had reportedly been to the residential complex. A little later, he was found lying on the ground. He was rushed to a private hospital in Puttur and from there to a hospital in Mangaluru where he died.

CCTV footage shows the boy heading towards the residential complex from his school at around 4.20 pm.  Within a few minutes he  had  fallen down. It is not known why he had been there. His school bag was found on the fifth floor of the building.  He has left behind his parents and a brother.
