Mangaluru, Jun 21, 2021: A labourer escaped the jaws of death by a hair’s breadth  in a land slip from a hillock during the  construction of a retention wall on the roadside at Margadangadi-Nonal in Muttur Gram Panchayat limits on June 20, Sunday evening.

 

Landslide


The retential wall was being constructed to prevent land slip  on a road  linking Ganjimutt to Moolarapatna.  Three workers were engaged in the work when the mishap took place.

 The  labourer who narrowly escaped in the incident is Rajesh Poojary (28). Though  mounds of mud fell over him, his  head was luckily outside. He was rescued  in an operation that lasted for nearly two hours.
