Minister Kota visits wedding venue of aggrieved family of Koraga community

Udupi, Dec 30, 2021: Following the incident of alleged police brutality on Koraga community members during a Mehendi ceremony at Kotatattu village in Brahmavar taluk that led to the suspension of the Kota SI and transfer of over 5 police personnel, State Minister for Backward Classes has visited the wedding venue of the family at Kumta in Uttara Kannada district.
The minister who was accompanied by local BJP leaders was accorded a warm welcome by the members of the Koraga community as well as the family members of the bride and groom. The Minister was taken to the venue amid the beating of the drums. He blessed the newlywed couple on the occasion.
Later, speaking to reporters, the minister said the incident will be thoroughly probed and strict action will be taken against those found guilty.
