Mangaluru : Konkani Academy Honorary Awards conferred

Mangaluru, Aug 02, 2021: The Konkani Sahitya Academy Honorary Awards-2020 presentation ceremony was held at the Kudmul Ranga Rao Town Hall on August 1, Sunday in the presence of a host of dignitaries.
The Honorary Awards were presented to Lakshmi Krishna Siddi (folk), Puttur Panduranga Nayak (Art) and Arun Subrav Ubhayakar (literature). The book prizes were presented to Steevan Quadras for his article entitled "Sugandu Swas,’ Monica D’Sa for her short story "Navidiha" and Prem Moraes for his work "Ekmoot Pavlyo."
Speaking as a chief guest, Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath said Rs 3 crore has been sanctioned for construction of a Konkani Bhavan for which land has been identified near Urwa.
Jagadish Pai, Konkani Sahitya Academy President, Dayanand Kattalsar, Tulu Academy President, Rahim Uchhil, Beary Academy President, Pratap Simha Nayak, MLC, Mayor Premanand Shetty and others were present.
