Mangaluru, Feb 26, 2021: Karavali Janapada Jathre will be held at Town Hall on February 28 under the aegis of the DK District unit of the Karnataka Janapada Parishat.
This was informed to reporters here on February 26, Friday by Lakshmisha Suvarna, General Secretary of the district unit of the Parishat.
A procession to be held as part of the event from Nehru Maidan to Town Hall will be inaugurated by Mayor Diwaker Pandeshwar. Deputy Commissioner Dr K V Rajendra will inaugurate an exhibition to be organised on the occasion.
The formal ceremony to be held at Town Hall will be inaugurated by Minister for Kannada and Culture Aravinda Limbavali.
’Madira,’ the first novel in Tulu script authored by Lakshmish Shetty will be released by Mujrai Minister an DK District in-charge Minister Kota Srinivas Poojary, Fisheries Minister S Angara and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.
State President of Janapada Parishat Timmegowda will preside over the function.
Tulu folk scholars Bannanje Babu Ameen, Mahendranath Salettur and KK Pejawar will be felicitated. Various folk cultural programmes highlighting the glory of Tulunad will be held.
The valedictory ceremony will be participated among others by Karnataka Janapada Parishat’s District unit President Praveen Kumar Koodialbail, District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, Tulu Academy Chief Dayanand Kattalsar, Beary Academy President Rahim Uchil, Konkani Academy President Pradeep Pai, Christian Development Corporation President Joylus D’Souza and others.
