MLA Kamath taking credit for projects sanctioned during Cong rule, alleges J R Lobo

Mangaluru, Jan 19, 2023: Congress leader and former MLA J R Lobo has hit out at Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath and alleged that the latter was taking credit for many projects initiated during the previous Congress rule.

 

 

 

Speaking to reporters here, Lobo took exception to the Rs 35 crore worth suspension bridge project from Bolur to Tannirbavi and said  it would not benefit anyone and suggested that a permanent bridge be constructed  that would benefit movement of  heavy vehicles.

On the Smart City project, he said the various works taken up under this Project would not last long. On MLA Kamath’s claims that he had secured Rs 4,750 crore grants to Mangaluru, Lobo said the Smart City, Amrit Scheme Jalasiri Scheme and many other schemes were sanctioned when he was MLA during the Chiefministership of Siddaramaiah. The present MLA has no role but has only laid the foundation for it, he added.

He also challenged the MLA to release a list of grants and projects sanctioned by the BJP government. He also alleged that the MLA had no farsightedness regarding development.

Congress leaders Kallige Taranath Shetty, Shahul Hameed, Naveen D’Souza, Shashidhar Hegde, T K Sudhir and others were present.
