Kotathattu incident: CoD probe ordered, says Home Minister Araga Jnanendra

Udupi, Jan 01, 2022: State Home Minister Araga Jnanendra has said that a CoD probe has been ordered into the recent incident of alleged police atrocities during the Mehendi ceremony at a Koraga community colony in Kotathattu of Brahmavar taluk.
The Minister said so after visiting the colony on January 1, Saturday. He announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakhs to those injured in the lathi charge. On this occasion he distributed cheques for Rs 50,000 each to six families.
He also assured to take steps to withdraw the cases filed against the members of the Koraga community.
Udupi Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao, State Minister for Backward Classes Kota Srinivas Poojary and others were present.
