Mangaluru, Nov 15, 2021: Kodikal area in Mangaluru observed a voluntary bundh on Monday in protest against the damage caused to a Naga Bana in the area by unidentified miscreants. Shops and other business establishments are shut down and even city buses are not plying in the area.
A protest meet was also held at Kodikal on Monday under the aegis of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bajrangdal.
VHP leader Sharan Pumpwell, Rajashekharananda Swamiji of Gurupur Vajradehi Mutt and others who spoke on the occasion demanded arrest of the culprits. The seer said those responsible for the desecration of the Naga Bana must be arrested within 24 days lest a bundh would be observed in the district.
The protestors also took out a procession till the Naga Bana and offered prayers there.
