Kalavar stabbing case: One more accused arrested

Mangaluru, Sep 06, 2023: One more person has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a youth near the Kalavar bus stand recently.

The arrested person is Punith (29) from Kinnikambla Kaikamba. With his arrest, the total number of persons arrested in this case has risen to four.

Earlier police had arrested Prashanth alias Pachu (28), Dhanaraj (23) and Yajnesh (22) of Kalavar. The injured youth has been identified as Abdul Safwan.

On August 31, following a fracas at Kalavar, a case was registered against Riyaz in Suratkal station. A peace meet was held at Kalavar on September 3 by the Suratkal police. It is learnt, the accused had summoned Abdul Safwan saying they had to talk. Accordingly Safwan had been to the bus stand at Kalavar along with his friend Mohammad Safwan. There the accused men abused and attacked Abdul Safwan.
