Mangaluru, Aug 12, 2022: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr. K V Rajendra has called for the success of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by hoisting the national flag atop all houses and commercial establishments.
He was speaking at a video conference with officials of various local administrative bodies and district and taluk level offices at his office on August 11, Thursday.
The DC called for steps towards effective distribution of national flags and also to open flag sales outlets at places where many people converge.
Already various GPs have been handed over 1.75 lakhs through the ZP CEO and the same were supplied from the Centre. As many as 1.75 lakh flags prepared by Women’s Self-Help Groups have also been distributed, he added.
All government buildings, schools, offiices, TP, GP buildings can hoist national flags during day time. Between August 13 and August 15, the flags must be hoisted before 8 am and dehoisted at sunset.
Meanwhile flags must be hoisted before 8 am on August 13 at all houses and the same must be dehoisted on the evening of August 15, the DC said.
All measures must be taken to hoist the flag in accordance to rules and with due respect, the DC said.
ZP CEO Dr Kumar, Kannada and Culture Department Assistant Director Rajesh and others were present.
