Citizens should enjoy freedom in daily life: Santhosh Kamath

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, Aug 15, 2022: "Independence becomes meaningful only when the citizens are able to enjoy freedom in their daily life. The Aam Aadmi Party is everybody’s party. Our five main goals are patriotism, eradicating corruption, and providing education, health, and infrastructure. If these five goals are achieved, then all citizens can enjoy freedom. Yet, in present-day governance, things other than these five goals are being pursued. Today, there is a culture of spreading hatred and mistrust between people. Great freedom fighters have sacrificed their lives for gaining independence. We should strengthen the Aam Aadmi Party and ensure that every citizen is able to enjoy freedom," Aam Aadmi Party district president Santhosh Kamath said.

He was addressing the workers of the Aam Aadmi Party while unfurling the national flag at Kalpane Kulasekhar Ground this morning, as part of the Amrut Mahotsava of Independence.

Preethi Karkera, an active party worker, said that though 75 years have passed since independence, women are still not enjoying the benefits of freedom and more than five lakh children are dying due to malnutrition. "We should support AAP to make everyone free," she said.

The party’s Media In-charge, Venkatesh N. Baliga, said we should be inspired by local leaders like Karnad Sadashiva Rao and Rani Abbakka to serve the nation. "Karnad Sadashiva Rao sacrificed all his inherited wealth and died pennilessly. Rani Abbakka defeated the Portuguese forces twice. If each of us tries to serve the nation with similar passion and dedication, we can improve the nation," he said.

Party worker Stephen Pinto greeted all present on the occasion. Rishal Melba Crasta sang patriotic songs. Avren D’Souza gave the vote of thanks. Anil D’Sa hosted the program. Bennet Moras was the coordinator of the program.

Former Dakshina Kannada AAP President Rajendra K. P., Shannon Pinto, Naveen D’Souza, Mangalore North Legislative Assembly President Naveen Chandra Poojary, Mangalore South Organizational Incharge Deviprasad Bajilakeri, Rony Crasta, Srinivas, Ravi Prasad, Khalid, Fazil, James, and other party members were present.

Sweets were distributed at the end of the program.
