Childrens’ Day Celebration at De Mercede Orphanage by the NSS unit- NGSMIPS

Mangaluru, Nov 18, 2021: NSS unit of NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences celebrated Childrens’ day at De Mercede orphanage, Paneer, Mangaluru, on 15th November 2021 at 3.00 pm. The principal Prof. Dr. C. S. Shastry along with Vice-principal, Prof. Dr. R. Narayana Charyulu and in-charge of the orphanage Sister Luciana inaugurated the program.

 

 

 

The principal addressed the gathering and shared his views about the importance of education and advised the inmates of the orphanage to study sincerely and secure for themselves a bright future and grow-up to be good human beings and worthy citizens of our great nation. Sister Luciana expressed her profound thanks to the pharmacy college for organizing the program and celebrating childrens’ day with the inmates of the orphanage which made the children happy and cheerful.

Prof. Dr. C. S. Shastry handed over few items of daily use like clothes, grocery, first aid kits, sanitary and toiletry kits, stationary kits to Sister Luciana as a token of love and affection for the inmates. The NSS volunteers then performed short skits, dance and hosted games for the children. Miss. Jesslin coordinated the outreach program ably supported by her NSS colleagues, and Miss. Disha proposed the vote of thanks. The program was concluded by serving light refreshments to all the participants and inmates of the orphanage.
