Belthangady: Wedding called off over bizarre reason

Belthangady, May 28, 2022: In a shocking and equally bizarre case a marriage was called off after the bride created a ruckus over what is supposed  to be a trivial issue. It is said the groom’s hand brushed past the ears and neck of the bride while garlanding her. The bride who was agitated over this refused to marry the groom creating utter chaos. The incident took place at a wedding hall at Naravi on May 25.

 

The family members managed to pacify the girl. However when it was time for the groom to tie the Mangalasutra, she again raked up the issue, threw the garland creating tense moment again. Following a heated exchange of words between both sides, Venoor police rushed to the spot.

The bride then complained that  the groom was not the same person with whom she was engaged.

The groom’s side has lodged a complaint with the police alleging that the bride seemed mentally ill and was not happy with the marriage and the same was not informed to them and this was tantamount to cheating. Stating the groom was mentally agonised, they also demanded a compensation of Rs 2 lakhs.
