Around 200 detained, 90 vehicles seized for violating restrictions

Mangaluru, Aug 01, 2022: Police detained as many as 200 people and seized nearly 90 vehicles on July 31, Sunday night for violating the restrictions on movement imposed by the administration from 6 pm to 6am as a precautionary measure following the  recent untoward incidents in the district including three murders within a span of few days.

As many as 19 check posts are functioning in the Mangaluru Commissionerate limits and unnecessary vehicular movement is restricted after 6 pm except for emergency and essential services.

The vehicles seized by the police during the operation on Sunday night to curb unnecessary vehicular movement, are likely to be  handed over to owners today after verification.

It may be recalled here that the DC on July 31, Sunday has extended the evening restrictions for two more days.
