229 new Covid-19 positive cases in DK; 263 cases in Udupi on August 12

Mangaluru, August 12, 2020: 229 people from Dakshina Kannada and 263 people from Udupi tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Seven more Covid-19 fatalities were recorded in DK and three deaths in Udupi district today.

Among the 229 new cases DK, 133 are from Mangaluru, 45 from Bantwal, 22 from Puttur, 5 from Sullia, 14 from Beltangady and 10 are from outside DK district. As many as 498 patients were discharged from hospital today.

With this the total Covid 19 positive cases in the DK district rose to 7,825. As many as 5,232 persons have been discharged and 2,349 cases are currently active. 244 deaths have occurred including 7 deaths today.

Udupi district has reported 263 fresh cases on Wednesday. Among them, 142 are from Udupi, 95 from Kundapur, 23 from Karkala and three from outside the district. Now, the Udupi has a total of 6,766 cases with 2,738 still being treated at the designated hospitals. 3,966 patients recovered and discharged including 198 discharges today. The district has reported 69 COVID-19 fatality.
