’Lucky customer’ gets stale food packet parcel as gift

Uppinangady, Sep 13, 2022: The security guard of a temple at Uppinangady has become a victim of fraud after believing a message that he was a lucky customer and has won a mobile phone of Rs 8,800 for which he has to pay just Rs 1,785.

 

As the person named Bhavani Shanker had recently purchased three mobile phones for his family members, he believed the message and the call from a person claiming himself to be the representative of the mobile phone company. As informed, Bhavani Shanker visited the post office to get the parcel and he had paid the mentioned amount. However, when he opened the parcel, to his dismay he found stale food packet inside.

He has brought this incident to the attention of the media to ensure no one else falls prey to such fraud.
