New Delhi, Oct 10, 2026: YouTuber Dhruv Rathee was detained by Delhi Police at his residence in Sector 56, Gurugram, on Saturday, reportedly while preparing to join the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) proposed protest at Jantar Mantar against alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Delhi Police had denied permission for the protest, citing security concerns and procedural requirements.
Security has been tightened across the national capital, with police deployed at key locations to prevent protesters from reaching the designated site. Around 150 protesters have reportedly been detained at various locations in the New Delhi area so far.
