
US, May 18, 2026: Two US Navy fights jets have crashed while performing in the Fighter Skies airshow at the Mountain Home Air Force Base In Idaho.
All four members of both jets were ejected safely in mid air collision involving EA-18 fighter jets at Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho.
Dramatic videos circulating online captured the moment two aircraft appeared to collide mid-air before spiralling toward the ground in flames during an air show in the United States. Footage showed four parachutes opening in the sky seconds after the collision.
The incident took place during the Gunfighter Skies Air Show at Mountain Home Air Force Base, located around 50 miles southeast of Boise. According to local broadcaster IdahoNews, the aircraft — believed to be EA-18G Growler fighter jets — were performing close-formation manoeuvres when they collided about two miles from the base.

Witness videos showed the jets flying extremely close before appearing to become entangled mid-air. Sparks were seen erupting from the aircraft as they plunged toward the ground, ending in a massive fireball and thick black smoke billowing above the base.
Emergency teams rushed to the crash site, while the air force base was placed under lockdown immediately after the incident.
In a statement posted on social media, Mountain Home Air Force Base said emergency responders were at the scene and an investigation into the crash had been launched.
