New Delhi, Nov 9, 2025: In a major breakthrough, Indian security agencies have arrested two of the country’s most-wanted gangsters operating overseas. Officials from multiple agencies, including the Haryana Police, confirmed the arrests of Venkatesh Garg in Georgia and Bhanu Rana in the United States. Rana is reportedly linked to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Both fugitives are expected to be deported to India soon. Authorities said that over two dozen major Indian gangsters are currently based abroad, running criminal syndicates and recruiting youths from India.
Garg, a resident of Narayangarh in Haryana, has more than 10 criminal cases registered against him. He fled to Georgia after being involved in the murder of a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader in Gurugram. Security sources revealed that Garg was operating an extortion network in coordination with Kapil Sangwan, another gangster residing overseas. In October, the Delhi Police had arrested four members of Sangwan’s gang involved in firing incidents targeting a city builder’s properties.
Rana, originally from Karnal, Haryana, has been living in the United States for some time. Linked to the Bishnoi gang, he faces multiple criminal cases across Haryana, Punjab, and Delhi. His name had also emerged in connection with a grenade attack in Punjab.
Earlier in June, the Special Task Force (STF) in Karnal arrested two men in possession of hand grenades, pistols, and ammunition — allegedly acting under Rana’s directions.
The coordinated arrests are seen as a significant step in India’s efforts to dismantle global criminal networks linked to domestic gang operations.
