Three Delhi schools receive bomb threat e-mails; security checks underway

New Delhi, Mar 2, 2026: At least three schools in the national capital, including Sardar Patel Vidyalaya and Salwan Public School, received bomb threat emails on Monday morning, prompting an immediate response from multiple security agencies.

School authorities alerted the police and fire department soon after receiving the threats.

An official from the Delhi Fire Services said teams from the local police, bomb disposal squad, dog squad and fire department were rushed to the campuses, and thorough security checks are currently underway.

According to the official, the fire department received calls from two of the schools. As a precautionary measure, students and staff were safely evacuated while security personnel carried out detailed anti-sabotage inspections of classrooms, corridors and surrounding areas.

So far, nothing suspicious has been found.

In a message to parents, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya said students had been evacuated safely.

“This morning the school received a security threat. As a precautionary measure, the police are in the school to undertake necessary security measures. All students have been evacuated safely. Once the school is declared safe, classes will resume for junior school students. The exam for senior school students will resume after the school is cleared,” the message stated.
