Terrorist behind Jammu-Kashmir civilian killing gunned down in encounter at Bandipora

Srinagar, Oct 11, 2021: An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces at Gundjahangir in the Hajin area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday morning.

One terrorist was gunned down in the encounter, Jammu and Kashmir Police said. Search operations are underway in the area.

 

The dead terrorist has been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar, affiliated with proscribed terror outfit The Resistance Front, a front for the Lashkar-e-Taiba. Dar was involved in the recent civilian killing at Shahgund in Bandipora.Earlier, a police personnel was injured during an encounter in the Verinag area of Anantnag. One terrorist was also killed. A pistol and a hand grenade were recovered from the spot. The operation is ongoing.
