Rajkumar allegedly first attacked his 30-year-old wife, Parvathi Saritha, and their two sons, aged four years and 18 months, at their residence in Shabad.

He then allegedly travelled nearly six kilometres to a nearby village, where he is suspected of killing a 17-year-old girl who had filed a complaint against him under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act on May 16. The girl’s mother and maternal grandmother were also killed.

According to police, Rajkumar had previously been booked under the POCSO Act and was out on bail at the time of the killings.

After the attacks, Rajkumar allegedly called his father and other family members and told them that he had killed both families. Police said he also claimed that he intended to die by suicide before fleeing.

“Preliminary investigation indicates that the accused committed the murders at two separate locations during the night. After the killings, he called his father and disclosed the crime," Future City Commissioner of Police Tarun Joshi said.
