Mumbai, Oct 28, 2026: Flight operations at Mumbai International Airport faced delays on Tuesday evening following a network outage that lasted more than an hour, forcing airport staff to resort to manual check-in, reported PTI.
Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL), the private operator of the airport, confirmed a temporary network disruption but said measures had been put in place to minimise passenger inconvenience and ensure essential services continued, added the report.
In a statement, MIAL said the disruption occurred on Tuesday evening and that its teams had switched to manual processing. The operator maintained that the outage had not affected airport or flight operations.
However, MIAL did not specify the duration of the disruption or provide further details about its impact.
Data from live flight-tracking website flightradar24.com showed that departures from Mumbai International Airport were delayed by an average of 50 minutes. As of around 9.30 pm, 327 flights had been delayed, while 13 per cent of flights had been cancelled.
It remained unclear how many of the delays and cancellations were directly linked to the network outage.
