Shivamogga, Oct 26, 2026: Karnataka BJP president B. Y. Vijayendra on Monday accused Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar and the Congress party of showing little interest in investigating the alleged sting operation involving former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Addressing the media in Shivamogga, Vijayendra questioned whether there was a conspiracy to use and then sideline Siddaramaiah, whom he described as the leader who brought the Congress to power in Karnataka.

He pointed out that Siddaramaiah himself had publicly alleged the involvement of members of his own party in the sting operation. Vijayendra urged Shivakumar to order a fair investigation and ensure that the matter was brought to a conclusion.

Taking a dig at the Congress, the BJP leader claimed that the party’s alleged ‘CD factory’, which he said was earlier based at the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) office, had now shifted to Vidhana Soudha.

He added that even Congress MLAs were openly questioning who was behind the alleged use of CDs and pen drives for political gains.

Vijayendra further claimed that several ruling party MLAs and senior ministers were apprehensive about the possible release of videos allegedly showing them in compromising situations.

Turning to the Mysuru Dasara celebrations, Vijayendra alleged that this year’s event was organised without consulting the Mysuru royal family, disrupting established traditions.

He accused Shivakumar of disregarding traditions for publicity and alleged that photographs of Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara and district in-charge Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah were omitted from the celebrations as part of an effort to promote his own image.

Vijayendra criticised what he described as Shivakumar’s pursuit of personal publicity, alleging that it had come at the expense of Karnataka’s cultural heritage.
