Seventh Suspect Held in ₹7.11 Crore Cash Van Heist in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Nov 23, 2025: The Bengaluru police on Sunday arrested a seventh suspect in the ₹7.11 crore cash van robbery case reported on November 19. The accused has been identified as Rakesh, a relative of Ravi, who was arrested earlier in the case.

“The suspect was arrested in Bengaluru late Saturday night. Further recovery is yet to be made,” said Lokesh B. Jagalasar, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Division.

On Saturday, the police announced the arrest of six suspects and the recovery of ₹6.29 crore of the stolen amount. Those arrested include Annappa Naik, a constable attached to the Govindapura police station; Xavier, a former employee of CMS Cash Management Services; Gopal Prasad, transport in-charge; and their associates Naveen, Nelson and Ravi.

The heist took place on November 19 when a CMS Info Systems cash van was intercepted in JP Nagar by men posing as Reserve Bank of India officials. The gang made away with more than ₹7 crore in cash before being tracked down by the police.
