Pakistani Jaish-e-Mohammad commander killed in gunfight with security forces in J&K’s Kathua

Jammu, January 24, 2026: A Pakistani terrorist affiliated with the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit was killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district on Friday, a senior police official said.

Inspector General of Police (Jammu range) Bhim Sen Tuti said the terrorist was neutralised during a joint operation conducted in the general area of Billawar.

“A Pakistani Jaish terrorist has been neutralised by a small J&K Police team in a joint operation with the Army and CRPF in the general area of Billawar,” Tuti said in a post on X.

The slain terrorist has been identified as JeM commander Usman. Security forces recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition from the spot, including an M4 automatic rifle, officials said.
