PM Modi turns 71: President Kovind, Union ministers and BJP leaders extend birthday greetings

New Delhi, Sep 17, 2021: President Ram Nath Kovind, Union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and Nirmala Sitharaman greeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday on Friday. PM Modi turns 71 today.“Happy birthday and best wishes to Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi. I wish you good health and long life and continue to serve the nation with your well-known spirit of ’Aharnisham Sevamahe’,” tweeted President Kovind.Home Minister Amit Shah lauded PM Modi, saying he not only gave the country the idea to think ahead of time and prove its resolve with hard work but also made it a reality.Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said Narendra Modi has written many new chapters in development and good governance in his tenure so far and wished that he would fulfil his dream of making India a strong, prosperous and proud country.

Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman also took to Twitter to extend greetings to the prime minister as he turns a year older.

 


"Greetings to PM Narendra Modi on his birthday today. My prayers for his long and healthy life. Dedication to Maa Bharati has guided his every step. Very reassuring to have such leadership at such challenging times. Honoured to serve under his guidance,” Sitharaman tweeted.

 


Conveying birthday greeting to the PM, Union Minister of Women and Child Development Smriti Irani said, “The embodiment of commitment and purity, and the successful PM of the country who dedicated his life for the welfare of the people. Happy Birthday to Narendra Modi ji. Under your leadership, the country is making steady progress. I pray for your long life and good health.”

 


Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari prayed for the prime minister’s health and long life.

"Happy Birthday, dear Narendra bhai. The immense patriotism, the readiness to work hard, the ability to make decisions and the self-confidence shown by you to take India to the highest glory is unprecedented. May you stay healthy and live long and under your leadership the dream of self-reliant India will come true," Gadkari tweeted.


In a series of tweets, former Union Cabinet minister and senior BJP leader Prakash Javadekar also wished PM Modi on his 71st birthday.

Ahead of PM Modi’s birthday, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had called for concerted efforts to ramp up the ongoing nationwide Covid-19 vaccination drive.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given a gift of ’vaccine for all, free vaccine to the country. This would be a birthday gift for the prime minister," Mansukh Mandaviya said on Thursday.

Meanwhile, BJP workers are also celebrating PM Modi’s 71st birthday all across the country. The saffron party will observe ‘Seva aur Samarpan Abhiyan’ from September 17 to October 7, the day PM Modi was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for the first time in 2001.

Speaking about the plans for PM Modi’s birthday, UP BJP spokesperson Hero Bajpai said, “We aim to reach out to the maximum people so that they become aware of our policies and they should also know that there is a PM whose birthday is celebrated among common people.”

Born in Gujarat in 1950, PM Modi joined the RSS at an early age and was later drafted into the BJP. Made Gujarat chief minister in 2001, he led the BJP to power in the state for three consecutive terms and then at the Centre back to back in 2014 and 2019.
