No talks until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns, PM Modi apologises to students: Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi, Jul 24, 2026: Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Friday said the Opposition would not engage in any discussions with the government until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns over the alleged examination paper leak issue. He also demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi apologise for the alleged police crackdown on protesting students in Delhi.

Speaking to reporters in the Parliament House complex, Gandhi alleged that he was not allowed to speak in the Lok Sabha after Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju urged Congress MPs to participate in the discussion.

"Rijiju ji made a statement in the Lok Sabha asking Congress MPs to begin a discussion. Whenever someone is named, it is customary to allow that person to respond. However, when I stood up to reply, I was not allowed to speak and my microphone was switched off," Gandhi claimed.

Parliament has witnessed a continued standoff between the Opposition and the government over the alleged examination paper leaks, student protests led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), and the police action against demonstrators in the national capital.

Gandhi said the protesting students have three key demands: the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, action against those responsible for the alleged assault on students, and an apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"These are the three conditions. We are not going to have any conversation or discussion until Mr. Pradhan is removed from office," Gandhi said.
